What is a Business Associate Agreement?
A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is a legally binding document required by HIPAA that establishes the permitted uses and disclosures of Protected Health Information (PHI) by a Business Associate on behalf of a Covered Entity.
DMEAid operates as a Business Associate when processing DME orders that contain PHI. Before transmitting any PHI through our platform, healthcare providers must have an executed BAA in place.
Important: Do not transmit any Protected Health Information (PHI) through DMEAid until a BAA has been fully executed between your organization and DMEAid, LLC.
Our BAA Includes
- Permitted uses and disclosures of PHI
- Safeguards for protecting PHI
- Breach notification requirements
- Termination provisions
- Return or destruction of PHI upon termination
- Compliance with HIPAA Privacy, Security, and Breach Notification Rules
Request Process
- Submit Request: Send an email to our legal team with your organization details
- Review: We'll review your request and prepare the BAA (typically 1-2 business days)
- Execute: Both parties sign the agreement electronically
